Making paper has always been a fundamental part of my work as the textured surface informs my painting and provides an exciting and challenging landscape upon which to work. I explore the figure and landscape through paper and paint and try to capture the essence of character through colour and composition.
I strive to push myself and improve and I have recently swapped acrylic for oils and made paper for board which has helped me focus on mark making rather than texture in my most recent paintings.
My most recent achievements are:
Winner of the People's Prize Award 2013 - Harley Gallery UK
Heat finalist on Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year 2014
Contestant on Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year 2015
